We turn ONE next month!

It's been awhile since I have written a blog. It's not that I don't want to, I love sharing our stories!! However, there's just so much to share and tell and so little time in the day!! Having said that, I plan to start making the time and writing them more regularly :) - This is Bec talking (writing) by the way; I am the Owner, Marketing Manager, Accountant, Delivery Driver, Social Media Manager, Website Creator, Packer, *Sometimes Manufacturer*, and Customer Service Manager - AKA it's just me here (this is probably why I don't have the time to write too much). Anyways, I am here to announce that on the 25th of August, we officially turn ONE!  I remember last year...

Launching!

Launching a company and brand is hard, really hard. And If I had my way we would have launched for Christmas 2019. The idea of Sandbar was created in January 2019 and it wasn't until June 2019 when I decided to actually commit 100% and get the ball rolling.  The hardest part was finding my manufacturer (which I have now and he is amazing), then refining the product, so it works, it looks nice, it's safe, and it's cost-effective. I didn't lock in my manufacturer until January 2020, yep - took me 6 months to get to this stage.  It took 6 months of product and development, refining, sketching, cutting, ordering, and everything in between. I am writing this in June...

Where is the Sandbar made?

Our Sandbars are proudly designed & handmade in Perth, Western Australia. The hardest part about launching this business was the product and designing stage and then finding the right company to manufacture them, with love, care and passion. We hit the jackpot with a company called Saltwood Designs located in North Fremantle. Karl, the incredible owner, has been nothing short of an absolute legend helping us launch this dream. Karl has put in endless hours and we couldn't have produced this product (that we are obsessed with) without the brains of this man.  https://www.saltwooddesigns.com.au/

In January 2019, I was sitting on my favourite beach in Perth and my coffee cup fell over. My macrame bag filled up with sand, my phone overheated and I had anxiety having to hide my sunnies in my towel every time that I went for a swim. I googled endlessly for a table that would solve all of my problems. Turns out, the perfect beach table for me - didn't exist.. yet!  I spoke to my family and friends...

Shoutouts

I am going to miss a lot of people here that have helped me throughout this process (so I'm sorry in advance) but you know exactly who you are, and how much I appreciate you. I have been so blessed to have had so many wonderful people offer their time, expertise, support, encouragement, and resources for nothing in return and I love you ALL for helping me to get to this point! Shoutouts: A big shoutout to Don, Don is an intelligent and kind engineer from my Gran's retirement village who offered to help with my first prototype. His design is the backbone of the one we are working with today. Don - you're a legend. Gran - thank you...
